NFL Week 13 Opening Odds
(The Spread) – As we head down the back stretch of the 2012 NFL season, let’s check out the opening point spreads and over/under totals for Week 13. NFL fans won’t have to wait very long to see a marquee matchup this week. That’s because the 10-1 Falcons will host the only team that has beaten them in 2012, division rival New Orleans. The Saints are coming off a 31-21 loss to the 49ers and essentially have to win out if they have any shot of making the playoffs. Meanwhile, Atlanta could go a long ways to ensure that its most hated foe won’t be playing deep into January if it can secure a win on Thursday night. The Falcons opened as a 3-point favorite against the Saints, while the over/under total opened at 55.5. While the total has pretty much stayed put, Matt Ryan and the Falcons are now either a 3.5 or 4-point favorite depending on what sports book you view. A rematch of a 2010 playoff game will take place in Chicago this Sunday when the Bears host the Seahawks at 1:00PM ET. Seattle is coming off a 3-point loss in Miami while Chicago was impressive in a 28-10 win over the Vikings last Sunday. Oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv have installed the Bears as a 3-point favorite while the over/under total is currently sitting at 38 points. NFC North rivals will clash in Green Bay when the 7-4 Packers host the 6-5 Vikings at 1:00PM ET on Sunday. Following their embarrassing loss to the Giants last Sunday night, the Packers are 9-point favorites over the Vikings, while the over/under opened at 46.5 points. One intriguing non-conference matchup features the Buccaneers traveling to Denver to take on the Broncos at 4:05PM ET. Tampa Bay is coming off its first loss in five games, while Denver is one of the hottest teams in the league at 8-3. The Broncos opened as 7-point favorites while the total is sitting at 51.5 points. The two primetime games feature NFC East opponents this week. The Cowboys will host the Eagles at 8:20PM ET on Sunday Night Football, while the Giants will visit the Redskins on Monday Night Football at 8:30PM ET. Dallas opened as a 7.5-point favorite versus Philadelphia while Washington opened as a 2.5-point underdog versus New York.
