These two have split a pair of unanimous decisions in their previous two meetings. Thomson won the first bout while Melendez won the second contest. Melendez has been on a roll since the loss to Thomson, winning his last six. Thomson has won just three of his last four. Melendez is considered the more evolved fighter, but Thomson has some solid all-around ability and is capable of winning the fight.
